Another Devyn Conversation

Me: Devyn, guess who mommy took pictures of today?

Devyn: A wedding?

Me: No.

Devyn: A bride?

Me: No. Keep guessing.

Devyn: Sara?

hahahaha! Apparently Devyn was enamored with Sara! Too funny! Anyways, I actually took pictures of her cousin, Ethan, today. But I thought the dialog was funny!

Beautiful Sara

I’m currently working on Sara and Paul’s wedding, and I couldn’t help myself. I had to post these images right away. Isn’t Sara just gorgeous?!?!?!

More to come . . .

Congratulations Eric & Angie!

Eric and Angie were recently married at The Oasis Church in Palm Springs. Their ceremony was very heartfelt and touching . . . and I may have even witnessed some tears from the groom throughout the day!

Here’s Angie looking as beautiful as ever . . .

This is the image I was capturing in the photo of me in my previous entry:

Spa Day with Devyn

The other day I had to get a couple of broken nails fixed, and no one was available to watch Devyn. I thought it would be a perfect way to entertain her by letting her get her very first manicure and pedicure. Funny, but when she’s being pampered, she’s so compliant. She’ll do whatever you ask. For a couple of days, she was still going on and on about getting her nails done. She loved it!

Lunch with Nikki!

A couple of weeks ago, I had the rare opportunity to have lunch with one of my dearest bestest friends in the whole world who I hadn’t seen for FOREVER!!! NIKKI!!!! Nikki was my Maid of Honor in my wedding and she’s a fabulous attorney living the wild life in the OC. Sorry, guys, she’s currently taken! With a new beau I haven’t met yet, but I’m dying to!

Nikki and I were actually college roommates at the good old University of Redlands (go Bulldogs!). Not my alma mater, since I ended up graduating from USD . . . but I had a great time while I was there and I still have a soft spot in my heart for the UofR. Nikki and I shared some really good times — and some really bad times, too. We’ve been through it all. She’s the kind of friend who understands when you don’t call for a long time, and we have the kind of friendship where we can just pick up right where we left off — no matter what.

She’s so cool! But here we are being dorks . . . Nikki happily complies when I tell her in the parking lot of California Pizza Kitchen that I must take our picture. THAT’S a good friend!

Conversations with a Toddler

When you have a 3-year-old running around your house, the conversations can be quite humorous. Especially when your 3-year-old is very astute with quite the vocabulary. I mean, just recently she started using pretty big words . . . like when I turned into our housing development and she said,

“Oh look, mommy, we’re in our nay-vor-hood.”

Apparently neighborhood has a “v” in it now!

Or when I got done cleaning out the garage and I was trying to get my husband to do some things for me. He was kind of giving me a hard time about doing the chores, so Devyn said,

“Daddy! Don’t bother my mama!”

Of course, you always find things in strange places, too. Like today for instance. It went a little something like this:

Me: “Um, Devyn, where are your purple kitty pajamas?”
Devyn: “I put them in the twash can.”
Me: “Why did you put them in the trash can?”
Devyn: “Because they’re all dirty. My diaper leak-ked and I got pee-pee on them.” [FWIW, she sleeps with diaper at night]
Me: “Devyn, what does mommy do with clothes when they get dirty? Does she throw them away?”
Devyn: “No.”
Me: “What do we do with dirty clothes?”
Devyn: “Wash ‘em.”
Me: “Right. So next time, can you put your pajamas in the laundry room?”
Devyn: “Yes. I’ll put ‘em in the laundwy woom.”

Sooo sooooo cute . . . but soooo soooo trying!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Me in Action

Well, I am finally done being sick. The cough is lingering a LOT longer than it should . . . but I AM getting better - Finally!

So, I thought I’d post a pic of me in action. Inevitably, whenever I work with a second photographer, they always think it’s real cute to take pictures of me working. Of course, I usually look ridiculous - like the ones where I’m literally laying down to get the best angle — or a nice one Ken got of me with my hair blowing straight up in the wind. Lovely (not really).

Alas, I finally found a decent one of me — it’s from Eric and Angie’s wedding in Palm Springs (taken by Ken). I’ll post more from the rest of the wedding soon.
